During an interview for Shift 2020 by In The Pocket, Hans Danneels from Byteflies mentioned that 1 in 3 epileptic patients don’t have the correct medication due to lack of MedTech.
This is mainly due to the lack of technology 'at home'. Today, seizures are being analysed with 'heavy' equipment within hospitals, and patients are keeping a 'seizure journal' at home. Yet, a large part of the seizures - that happen outside the hospital in everyday life situations - is never really captured. This means that physicians are often making decisions on merely a too limited amount of data.
