Make visiting a doctor a calming experience

After a health check-up at the nearby hospital, the doctor may refer you to Akasawa forest to practice Shinrin-yoku or forest baths. Akasawa was the place where forest baths originated.

But it was also the first forest therapy center to have medical staff present. In addition to hiking trails, this forest also offers a therapy center with consultation room. Every Thursday from May to October you can get a consultation among the trees.

The effects of spending time in a forest environment are very beneficial. Stress levels are reduced and an increase in NK-cell and adiponectin protein can be measured. Both are are proven to help inhibit lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes.

In the west we already see psychologists and life coaches who often go for walks with their patients. How could more traditional medicine use the positive effects of nature for the benefit of their patient. But why not, in favor of the doctor. How can consultation rooms have a calming effect that nature also has for us? Which alternative places could be considered as a consultation space.
